Who We Are
CLD Specialists is a group of culturally and linguistically diverse (CLD) educators dedicated to empowering marginalized students through Pre-K-12 education. The associates represent a diverse group of heritage languages and cultures. They are highly qualified and experienced professionals who have worked in Pre-K–12 educational settings and know the importance of connecting students’ culture, language and experiences to the mainstream curriculum.

Gloria I. Rodriguez
Gloria I Rodriguez specializes in promoting the inclusivity of underserved students in public schools. Her three decades of experience include working as a classroom teacher, school administrator, curriculum designer, and professional development facilitator. An English Language Learner (ELL), Bilingual and Migrant Education subject matter expert, Rodriguez has authored K-12 curriculum materials and professional development modules to ensure the meaningful inclusion of CLD students in mainstream curricula. Her deeply held belief is that authentic literature that connects students’ culture, language, and experiences to the mainstream curriculum is vital for their success. This passion and her own upbringing led her to recently launch her own consulting firm, Gloria I Rodriguez & Associates, CLD Curriculum Specialists. Her firm pairs highly qualified and experienced professionals from Pre-K-12 settings with curriculum developers to foster innovative ways to improve CLD curriculum integration. Rodriguez holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Bilingual Education and a Master’s Degree in Education Leadership.
